Serta Memory Foam Mattress

Maybe what you’re missing from your life is a serta memory foam mattress. First of all, how are you resting at night? What would you rate your night’s sleep on a one to ten scale? Now, if you claim that you’re just sleeping okay, then that’s certainly not satisfactory. Not in this modern age of technology and comfort. If you’ve never tried one of these, then it’s high time you get online and check out what is currently available.

I first looked at the serta memory foam mattress in a shopping mall. This is the most common place to encounter these contemporary beds, other than in a mattress store, or furniture store. You absolutely have to get out there and start testing them all for yourself. Lay down on several of them and get an idea of how it feels. I say several of them, because there are so many variations available now days. It’s no longer just the classic serta memory foam mattress that the astronauts were using. Currently you can pick and choose from an outstanding variety of memory foam beds and pillow. I spotted the one for me in a Dormia store. My wife and I were out and about browsing for that perfect serta memory foam mattress, and then we stumbled across a Dormia store. After testing out all their beds, we soon narrowed it down to two. This is when the choice became difficult. We weren’t positive if we wanted to go the extra mile and purchase the incomparable king sized Ultimate model or settle for the next best thing. Ah, what the heck, we said. We ended up buying the awesome bed that we now own and enjoy. Furthermore, I must say that it was money well-spent. It has a 15 year warranty for added security. We have no complaints about our new-age serta memory foam mattress.

It’s easy to get the scoop on the contemporary serta memory foam mattress. Hop on your laptop and see what you have to choose from. A number of retailers offer this style of bed now. Again, I must stress that you test any serta memory foam mattress before you actually decide to follow through with a purchase. These are not cheap and you want to make sure you like it.

Memory Foam Mattress Pads

 Memory Foam Mattress Pads

Getting a good night’s sleep is something that seems to elude a good number of people. In some cases, the culprit is stress or just not having enough hours in the day for work, family and eight hours of sleep each night. For others, the problem lies with their bed, in particular, their mattress. For them, Memory Foam Mattress Pads may be the solution they seek that will afford them a full night’s rest.

These are available at most bedding shops. You want to choose one that is suited for the bed you already own. In other words, you don’t want to look at Memory Foam Mattress Pads for twin size beds if you are sleeping in a queen. Be certain you choose the size that your bed currently is. It’s a great idea to buy Memory Foam Mattress Pads for every bed in the home, including children’s beds. They can also help a child sleep better as well, which every parent welcomes.

Along with different sizes there are different types available as well. One of the most popular are those that have a memory feature to them. These conform to the shape of your body so that each time you get in bed the mattress pad is already ready just for you. This is a wonderful feature as it can provide quite a bit of extra support to the neck and back regions, which seem to be trouble spots for many people. Pillows are also available in this type of memory foam and are a great investment to consider when you are purchasing the pad.

Using one is as simple as making your bed. The pad itself sits squarely overtop of your mattress. Once you have put on a fitted sheet, the mattress pad won’t budge. Many people find it a good idea to place a plastic sheet over the foam mattress  Memory Foam Mattress Pads especially in the bed of a child who may still be prone to nighttime accidents. This can be distracting for an adult though as most plastic sheets crunch each time you roll over.

It’s not advisable to try and wash these sleep accessories. You’ll find that water can cause significant damage and the foam mattress pads won’t feel the same afterwards. Instead consider replacing the pad if it becomes necessary because of cleanliness.

Your sleep is certain to improve once you have one on your bed. Chances are that you’ll become less of a morning person as you’ll find it hard to get out of such a comfy bed when the alarm rings each day.

Cotton Sheets

Cotton Sheets

Though there are many different types of sheets out there, some say that cotton sheets are the best all purpose type of sheets for anyone to buy. Though I’m not sure if they are the softest by any means, they are very comfortable and they are good for many reasons. Cotton is rather durable, and it has been around for a very long time. It can be blended with other materials for special sheets, and they don’t have to cost a fortune if you know where to shop and what to buy.

Many like to use cotton sheets in the summer because they help whisk away sweat while someone is sleeping. This is a huge benefit if you live in an area that has rather high humidity in the summer. However, if they are heavy cotton sheets, they might contribute to the problem. If getting them for this reason, finding ones that are rather thin might be the best bet, even if they aren’t quite as soft as their thicker counterparts. Those who have oily skin might like these. However, it should be noted that cotton pillow cases aren’t the best for those who have dry hair, as they may make the problem worse.

When shopping for cotton sheets, there are a few things to keep in mind. If you get dark colored sheets they have to be washed a few times before they are used, as they can bleed color onto the mattress and even onto your skin. Though all sheets should be washed first, the ones with dark color will need a few trips through the washer. The thread count is important to some. A high thread count is said to be more comfortable, but they are also much more expensive. For personal use, the high thread count might be nice, but for the guest bedroom that is used once a year, the lower count should do just fine.

There are many places to buy cotton sheets, and where you buy is up to you. You should know you will get better sheets if you pay more for them, and also if you shop in places that specialize in home products. Wal-Mart might have them, but they won’t be as nice as what you can get from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They can also be found online, and that might be the best place to find good cotton sheets at a really great price.

Luxury Bed Sheets

Luxury Bed Sheets

In many ways, I am a pretty typical guy. Although I have done better in recent years, I am still not the best housekeeper. When I am living on my own, I use whatever sheets and blankets I happen to have around. The last ones I had, in fact, had holes in them and had not been replaced in years. I keep things reasonably clean, but I’m not the type of person to worry about appearances. I certainly don’t invest in such frivolities as luxury bed sheets.

When I first got involved with Lorraine, my current girlfriend, everything changed. She was definitely a Luxury Bed Sheets kind of girl. I’m not talking about luxury silk sheets either – those are reasonably affordable nowadays. She would use nothing but Egyptian cotton bed sheets. You might assume that she is rich and spoiled, but she isn’t. She spends little money on entertainment, preferring to stay at home and read a good book when she gets some free time. She just enjoys the good things in life – comfortable clothing, a home-cooked meal, and excellent sleeping arrangements.

luxury-bed-sheets.jpg

When she first told me that Luxury Bed Sheets help her sleep better, I was quite skeptical. Bedsheets are bedsheets, or so I thought. I have slept on what I thought were luxury hotel sheets before, and I didn’t notice much of a difference. The first night I spent at her house, however, I was in for a pleasant surprise. The Luxury Bed Sheets were actually amazing! They felt so smooth and comfortable against my skin that I fell right asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow. She hadn’t really expressed disapproval of my house, but nevertheless I quickly changed the way I was living. Maybe there was something to be said about leather furniture and Luxury Bed Sheets after all!

Fortunately, I took her with me when I went out to buy a Luxury Bed Sheets. I am so glad that I did. Bedding is not an area that most consumers know much about. There are a lot of people there, in fact, who will fleece you, selling you mediocre products for greatly inflated price. Unless you know good quality from bad quality (or happen to have a girlfriend who does) you won’t get the real, genuine article. Trust me, you will know the difference when you experience it. Luxury Bed Sheets are worth doing a bit of research before you shop!

Kids Bedrooms

Kids Bedrooms

If you have a child, you have to deal with your child’s room. You may remember being yelled at as a kid to keep your room clean, and you may have wondered what the big deal was. Today, I totally understand why my mom was always on my case to get my room cleaned up, and why she would get so upset when I let it go. For parents, seeing messed up kids bedrooms is something that will never be acceptable. When you spend a lot of time keeping the rest of the house clean, chaos in the bedrooms seems to make it seem like you have done nothing at all.

Kids bedrooms are a place where many kids play. If you can, you should have a separate room for toys, and if you can do this, the bedrooms will remain cleaner for longer. Most of us don’t have this extra space, and if we do, we have to use it for something else. If at all possible, you should give your children the bigger rooms when moving in to a new house if you don’t have room for a toy room. That way, they can keep a better handle on the toys they have.

kids-bedrooms.jpg

If you find that your kids bedrooms are always a disaster, you have to come up with a plan to keep it picked up. This will be hard, and I have to tell you, I have failed on every attempted. My kids bedrooms have always been a disaster, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get her to pick up the toys and clothes. We can help her, but the mess is back the next day. Short of cleaning her room for her, or moving, I am at a loss as to what to do next.

You may want to get storage units to put into your kids bedrooms if they seem to have too many toys on the floor all the time. This hasn’t worked well for me, but maybe it will for you. My daughter is spoiled rotten by my family, and I don’t know how to get them to quit. As a result, she just has too many toys. Before each holiday I must go through her stuff and throw things away, and give away the good stuff to charity. Otherwise, she’d be living in Toys R Us. The very best thing to do if your kids bedrooms are driving you nuts is to close the door and try to forget about it. It works for me.

Bedside Tables

 Bedside Tables

Of all the things that we could have fought about, I never assumed that it would be about bedside tables. Ok. I feel I need to explain this to you. In our house, the bedroom is the smallest room. I’m not kidding when I say that it is smaller than our smallest bathroom. I don’t know how we could have skipped noticing this fact when we were moving in, but there you have it – the world’s smallest bedroom. A fact that makes it all the smaller is that we have what can comfortably pass off as the world’s largest four-poster bed. Again, I’m not kidding you. I bought this mammoth at a garage sale because it seemed too good to pass up, and believe me when I tell you, I’ve never regretted anything as much as I have regretted buying this bed. Hang on, that’s not entirely true. I do regret the bed, but maybe it’s the bedside table that I regret the most.

You see, this dainty little bedside tables came along with this huge bed. And since I’m never good at passing up an opportunity to claim a freebie, I took the bedside tables home. Trouble is, the bedroom is far too small to accommodate me, the missus, the mammoth bed and the bedside table. And since my missus was used to her comfort and fell in love with the bedside table at first glance, it was me who was unceremoniously booted out of the bedroom on the first day. Being too weary to argue after lugging the mammoth bed home, I quietly went to the living room to slump on the couch. But day two again saw me being booted. This time I put up a good fight with the missus and got hollered at for my effort (Oh yes! The woman can holler!) So back to t good old couch it was.

Day three came by and I decided to be a little proactive. Well before the missus got all bleary eyed, I snuck into the bedroom and smuggled out the offensive bedside tables. I placed it (rather too much concern on my part, if you ask me) out on the balcony. In a way, you could say that after being banished to the couch for two straight days, I was keen to get my revenge. But all hell broke loose when the missus discovered that I was in the bedroom while her ‘lovely bedside table’ (her words; not mine!) was out in the cold. Now snide remarks may slide over my skin, hurtful words can be absorbed by my hide, but being passed over for a miserable old bedside table (my words; not hers!) was too much hurt for my pride to swallow. So I did what every hot blooded man in my position would do. I stormed into the balcony and threw the offending bedside tables over the side.

Big mistake. The bedside tables landed on poor Mrs. Jane and left her bed-ridden for a month. My society members fined me for wanton and dangerous littering. The missus never forgave me till I bought her a similar bedside table (and a really expensive one this time around; turns out the bedside table I had smashed was a collector’s item of sorts!) and I got banished all over again to the couch (this time, minus the cushions!) Moral of the story? Try a mattress on the floor and enjoy happy, wedded bliss!

Comforter Set

Filed under: Bedding, Comforter Set — admin @ 4:02 pm

 Comforter Set

My neighbors have been remodeling their house for most of the summer. They are updating the cabinets in the kitchen as well as their counter top. They also replaced the carpeting in the living room area as well as the bedrooms. My neighbor knows that I have done a great deal of painting so she asked me if I would help her paint the room. I told her that I would be glad to.

The color she picked for the walls is a dark sand color. They have white woodwork and ceilings so the room had a very crisp look to it during the daylight hours and a very relaxing feeling in the evenings. Once we finished the painting she asked me to go shopping with her to find a comforter set. She had a quilt and bed skirt in the room, but she was tired of looking at it and she wanted to complete the new look for the room.

We went to an outlet store that is close to our homes. The store had  comforter sets that my neighbor loved, however they only had it for a twin size bed. That particular color line was discontinued so the store could not order her one. I suggested a bedspread instead of a comforter set. I saw a white woven bedspread. I thought the bedspread would look very nice and neat. Because it was such a neutral tone she could place many multiple colored pillows on the bed. The pillows could change with the seasons. The only thing the bedspread did not have was the warmth that the comforter set would provide.

My neighbor was not convinced that she wanted to get the bedspread. The clerk told her that she could take the bedspread and the comforter set home with her to see what they would look like in the room. She was given forty eight hours to make a decision. I thought this was a great offer on the part of the store. It insured her a sale of at least one of the items and it gave the neighbor a chance to see both of the bed covers in the room.

We arranged the bedspread on the bed. It looked very nice I told my friend that she also needed to in vision several pillows on the bed also. We then put the comforter set on the bed. The puffiness on the batting and the bold colors made the room feel warm ad cozy. She decided to buy both the comforter set as well as the bedspread. She thought it would be nice to change the color schemes in the room periodically.

Bedroom Decor

 Bedroom Decor

When it comes to  Bedroom Decor, you should think more about it then you may have realized. There are many sleep disorders out there, and you might be surprised to know that how you decorate your bedroom and what you put into it might make a difference in how you sleep. Though a sleeping disorder might have a different root of origin, the colors you choose and the stuff you surround yourself with might make a difference in how much sleep you get and how well you sleep in general.

When you choose a color for your  Bedroom Decor, you should always go for something low key or darker. Don’t get bright sunny colors or your walls will stimulate you and you won’t sleep well. Bedroom should be for sleeping and sex with your mate. Everything else should be done elsewhere. This might help your sex life as well. You should choose colors like dark reds or perhaps even blues. You can offset with white accents for some brightness, but you want to keep your  Bedroom Decor on the muted side and it should not be something for the whole family.

When planning the accessories for your Bedroom Decor, keep it simple. You don’t want family photos and your child’s artwork hanging in there. Your sex life might suffer if you have mom and dad smiling down at you from your last family portrait.  You love your children but reminders that they are in the house might also put a damper on your intimate moments. The  Bedroom Decor is one thing that you might want to go at as if you were still a childless couple. You can put the family stuff all over the rest of your house if you want to, just leave it out of your bedroom.

master-bedroom-decor.jpg

Also remember to keep your  Bedroom Decor very sparse. Don’t have anything in there that might look cluttered. Keep clean lines and soft surfaces.  Anything that reminds you of work or chores will keep you awake because you are aware that it is sitting there undone. If at all possible, don’t have a computer in your bedroom, and never leave clothes sitting out. Make sure you have an adequate clothing hamper in your bedroom. If you keep your  Bedroom Decor simple and demur, you will get better sleep, and as a bonus, you might also find that your sex life improves as well.

Contemporary Bedroom Furniture

 Contemporary Bedroom Furniture

What is the most peculiar piece of Contemporary Bedroom Furniture you have come across? I mean, take a look around your bedroom. Most of the Contemporary Bedroom Furniture there is just that – functional, bedroom furniture. This furniture has a specific function to perform and excels at performing that. Take the bed itself for instance. It comes with a mattress and facilitates lying down. Which is what most people do with it anyways! Or take the bed stands for instance. They are meant to serve as convenient storage spaces for items related to the bedroom, which probably need to be tucked away from sight. In some cases, these bed stands come equipped with shelves of sorts so that people can store their books. So far these examples of Contemporary Bedroom Furniture are fairly straightforward. In the rare case, I have come across Contemporary Bedroom Furniture that reflects the style or personality (or sometimes, just the quirks!) of the owner. But in some of the houses I have had the opportunity to visit, I have come across some really strange Contemporary Bedroom Furniture !

The strangest of these kinds of  Bedroom Furniture was a centuries old alarm mechanism. I use the word mechanism on purpose. Because, unlike the digital clocks of today, this truly was a mechanical device that would wake the sleeper up with a veritable shudder. Based on the principle of the spring mechanism, it could be set for hours and half hours. Once the set time arrived, the device would release a spring on the underside of the bed, literally pushing the sleeper off it. In order that the sleeper not hurt him/herself, there was a barricade of sorts to prevent them from flying completely off the bed. This whole contraption (I quite frankly don’t know what else to all it!) fit snugly under the bed and lay there until disturbed.

In some of the older houses I have visited, I have found  Bedroom Furniture that includes the quaint mosquito net holder. Basically, this comprises four posts of the bed on which the mosquito net is hung or suspended from. But when the net is off, it does look like a pall of sorts. In fact, the first time I saw it, it gave me quite a fright. But the one Bedroom Furniture that totally freaked me out was the rotary meal deliverer. I really don’t know what else to call it. It was a mechanical contraption (again!) that delivered food to the person reclining comfortably on the bed!
