Bedroom Decor

 Bedroom Decor

When it comes to  Bedroom Decor, you should think more about it then you may have realized. There are many sleep disorders out there, and you might be surprised to know that how you decorate your bedroom and what you put into it might make a difference in how you sleep. Though a sleeping disorder might have a different root of origin, the colors you choose and the stuff you surround yourself with might make a difference in how much sleep you get and how well you sleep in general.

When you choose a color for your  Bedroom Decor, you should always go for something low key or darker. Don’t get bright sunny colors or your walls will stimulate you and you won’t sleep well. Bedroom should be for sleeping and sex with your mate. Everything else should be done elsewhere. This might help your sex life as well. You should choose colors like dark reds or perhaps even blues. You can offset with white accents for some brightness, but you want to keep your  Bedroom Decor on the muted side and it should not be something for the whole family.

When planning the accessories for your Bedroom Decor, keep it simple. You don’t want family photos and your child’s artwork hanging in there. Your sex life might suffer if you have mom and dad smiling down at you from your last family portrait.  You love your children but reminders that they are in the house might also put a damper on your intimate moments. The  Bedroom Decor is one thing that you might want to go at as if you were still a childless couple. You can put the family stuff all over the rest of your house if you want to, just leave it out of your bedroom.

Also remember to keep your  Bedroom Decor very sparse. Don’t have anything in there that might look cluttered. Keep clean lines and soft surfaces.  Anything that reminds you of work or chores will keep you awake because you are aware that it is sitting there undone. If at all possible, don’t have a computer in your bedroom, and never leave clothes sitting out. Make sure you have an adequate clothing hamper in your bedroom. If you keep your  Bedroom Decor simple and demur, you will get better sleep, and as a bonus, you might also find that your sex life improves as well.

Bed Quilts

 Bed Quilts

When my husband and I were first married, we had our first fight over  Bed Quilts. I was in love with the plush, lacy quilt I’d had on top of my own bed for several years, and he thought that something more masculine would be appropriate since we’d now be sharing a bed. He wanted some Bed Quilts in dark colors, with geometric shapes, when I’ve only ever slept under blankets decorated with flowers and girly frills. We eventually had to sort it out and move on with our lives because, as we would soon find out, there are so many more interesting things to fight about in a marriage to waste much energy arguing about the Bed Quilts.

We had to come to an agreement, somewhere between lace covered roses and darkly colored geometrical designs. We tried to find  Bed Quilts with patterns we both liked but it was practically impossible. Our tastes in bedding were so different that if I saw something I liked, I could immediately assume my husband would think it was the most hideous design ever created. I liked checks, he liked stripes. I liked bright colors, he liked earth tones. I didn’t mind paisleys, he would rather sleep on the sidewalk than under some Bed Quilts covered in paramecium-shaped designs. On it went until finally we decided to buy a plain white down comforter for our bed to get us through the winter, and then we would resume our fight about the Bed Quilts once spring came again.

Luckily my mother-in-law intervened before we had a chance to segregate ourselves into separate rooms. She is a quilter and she offered to design a quilt for us, using fabrics we picked out ourselves. The possibilities were endless. If you’ve ever been on a trip to a fabric store then you know how much there is to choose from. They have plain fabric, textured fabric, they even have fabric made out of muppet fur! I knew we’d have lots of options.

When the day finally arrived for us to visit the fabric store, we realized that while we both had individual ideas about what the pre-made Bed Quilts should look like, we also had our own ideas about what a custom-made quilt should look like. In the end, we decided to each create one side of the quilt and flip it on the bed every once in a while. And now our time is freed up to fight about more important things like who left the toothpaste gobs in the sink.

Here Are Some Easy Tips for Decorating A Small Bedroom

Here Are Some Easy Tips for Decorating A Small Bedroom
By Lynn Cressy

Small Bedroom

Having a small bedroom can be quite uncomfortable. After all, your bedroom is the one place where you want to be able to relax and to unwind. If you feel cramped and claustrophobic within your bedroom, you certainly will not be very successful at accomplishing that task! Thankfully, with these tips for decorating small bedrooms, you can make your bedroom feel bigger even if it really isn’t!

One of the first steps you need to take when decorating a small bedroom is to eliminate clutter. Knick-knacks and other items lying throughout the room will break up your line of vision and make the room seem smaller than it really is. In addition, a clutter free space is commonly associated with spaciousness. After all, when you shop in a high-end store, aren’t the aisles spacious and clear? When shopping at a discount outlet, on the other hand, the shelves are crowded and the aisles are difficult to maneuver. Keep the same concept in mind when decorating your bedroom.

When decorating small bedrooms, you should also make use of mirrors as much as possible. Since mirrors reflect the images from the bedroom, they will create the illusion that the bedroom continues in the other direction. By adding a full length mirror to your closet door or to the back of the doorway leading out of the bedroom, you can create a more spacious look while also giving yourself a tool to help you when getting dressed in the morning!

Light colors are always good when decorating small bedrooms. You can always use trim or colored bedding to bring more color into your bedroom, so don’t be afraid to use light colors for your walls and floor. Not only will this make your room look more spacious, it will make it easier for you to change the look of your room when you become bored with the color scheme you currently have!
